DESCRIPTION:I’ve invited Jill Kettler back to the studio for another wonderful day of weaving and learning. You’ve seen her work in many local art festivals and you KNOW you love it as much as I do. I have been coveting one of her amazing creations for a very long time. Her sense of color and texutre are amazing. Now\, you can spend time with her and learn the art of rigid heddle weaving from the master\, all while creating your own beautiful lace scarf. Jill will have looms pre-warped and ready to weave. You’ll go home with a lot more knowledge and a GORGEOUS new scarf.  \nSeating is very limited\, so sign up to reserve your seat. There are no RSVPs for this class. Once your registration is complete\, there are no refunds or cancellations. If you cannot attend\, you may transfer your registration to another student. Using acrylic paint and various tools and stencils we will ink up these plates and print the images on paper. You will learn a foundation for gel plate monoprinting\, and ways of introducing texture\, color\, layers\, and line. Then we will print some abstract Valentine themed images. These will be suitable for framing or collaging. You won’t be able to stop. Join me for this early summer session of blue blue blue. I’ll teach you all about shibori dyeing including traditional folding methods\, easy dye bath composition\, and process. This. Is. Addictive. Truly. We’ll do some practice work on floursack towels for your kitchen\, and then you can you’ll have the option to do a larger piece. You’ll have sooo much fun. And\, you’ll probably end up with blue somewhere. Wear your ‘creative clothes’ and bring an old towel\, because this is messy!! If you’re getting rid of some old towels\, the studio is accepting a few towel donations. Turns out we do a LOT of messy stuff!! SUMMARY:Painting With Wool - Needle Felted Landscapes
DESCRIPTION:Painting with Wool \n\nLandscapes with Lisa Hinrichs\nJoin us to make a wool painting of a landscape suitable for framing.  We will use a felting needle to “Paint” with colorful merino wool. Skills taught will be: fiber blending to get the colors we need\, how set up our “canvas”\, how to use a felting needle and how to finish and frame the artwork.  We will have several different landscape samples to choose from for your piece. \nThe instructor is Lisa Hinrichs\, a fiber and mixed media artist whose studio is at the Foundry Art Centre in St. Charles\, Missouri. \n\nKits\, including a felting mat\, felting needles backing fabric and wool will be available for $25. If you already own a felting mat and felting needles you can purchase just the backing fabric and wool for $12\n\nSeating is limited so grab your friends and sign up early! \n	Class registration is refundable up to 48 hours before class time. I’ll choose an approximately hour long video each month to spark your imagination\, feed your brain\, and inspire you to create more.  Bring a lunch or a snack and sit back and relax as we watch other people do the hard work. Maybe we’ll learn something! \nFree for Tuesday Open Studio attendees. For drop-ins\, a $5 donation to the studio is appreciated.  Bring your lunch or order locally. \nIf I can’t decide\, I will pick two videos for us to vote on. They will all be wonderful inspiration  and information no matter the media presented. What we don’t watch this month will go back into the pool. Or\, if you’re feeling watchy you can watch the second one while I nap in the beanbag! Most of the videos are 45-60 minutes.
