DESCRIPTION:If you’ve always wanted to try gel plate printing\, this class is a great introduction. If you have no idea what gel plate printing is\, you’re going to be amazed. Using acrylic paint and various tools and stencils we will ink up these plates and print the images on paper. You will learn a foundation for gel plate monoprinting\, and ways of introducing texture\, color\, layers\, and line. Then we will print some abstract Valentine themed images. These will be suitable for framing or collaging. You won’t be able to stop. I’ll teach you all about shibori dyeing including traditional folding methods\, easy dye bath composition\, and process. This. Is. Addictive. Truly. We’ll do some practice work on floursack towels for your kitchen\, and then you’ll have the option to do a larger piece. You’ll have sooo much fun. And\, you’ll probably end up with blue somewhere. Wear your ‘creative clothes’ and bring an old towel\, because this is messy!! If you’re getting rid of some old towels\, the studio is accepting a few towel donations. Turns out we do a LOT of messy stuff!!
