Introduction to Gelatin Plate Printmaking

To close out my Birthday Month, let me show you how fun it is to explore monoprinting with gel plates. Frame these gorgeous abstract creations or use them as collage material or as backgrounds for your artwork.

This is a print frenzy! I will demo various monoprinting techniques and then we print print print print print. And print. We will bury ourselves in PILES of printed paper full of color, texture, line, and possibility. Use these papers for your mixed media artwork, collages, or as art in their own right. You will go home with a billion (give or take) prints and the knowledge to create amazing monoprints. I will also provide a recipe for, and discuss the pros and cons of, making your own gel plates.
